Teams and players must provide their own playing equipment.

Softball Bats

RCS follows the USA-banned/approved bat guidelines. Bats need to be slow pitch softball bats with an ASA or USA stamp. Slow pitch bats are typically 34″ in length and a minimum of 26oz. Bats may not be on the USA List of Non-Approved Softball Bats current as of March 11, 2026.

Players must have their softball bats checked and stickered by RCS prior to being used in a game. Teams found using banned bats can be sanctioned based on the RCS Game Day Rules.

Softballs

RCS follows the USA-approved softball rules. Softball cores should be .520 max or under, and compression should be 300lb max or under.

RCS offers all teams the opportunity to purchase a case of USA-approved softballs at a discounted rate. Orders must be placed before the season with the Assistant Commissioner. A case of 12 softballs costs $80 for the 2025 season.

RCS provides one new game ball for each game, and each team will provide an additional playable game ball. Coaches or managers may collect their team’s balls following each game played.

Uniforms

Catcher masks are required. Pitcher masks are optional.
Metal cleats are not allowed and shall not be worn by any player, manager, coach, or umpire.
