Board Elections

Rain(bow) City Softball elections concluded on February 20, 2024. Current RCS members are eligible to vote.

Eligibility to Run for Office

Candidates must have been an RCS member for at least one (1) year in order to participate on the RCS Board in either an elected or appointed position.

Elected Positions on the Board

The positions open for election were Assistant Commissioner and Director of Community Engagement. The term will last for three years – March 2024 through March 2027.

Running unopposed and thereby declared the winners are Tori Jacobson, Assistant Commissioner, and Marita Quiroz, Director of Community Engagement.

Assistant Commissioner Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all activities of the teams in the Rain(bow) City Softball League.
  • Participate and vote on all player rating changes and reviews for players in the ALL Divisions.
  • Maintain team and player information.
  • Ensure eligibility of all players listed on a roster for all divisions, criteria include:
    1. Fee payment
    2. Waiver status
    3. Rating eligibility
    4. Existence and accuracy of online profile
  • Open and close fields when designated to do so.
  • Communicate to all coaches and managers on all RCS matters, as necessary.
  • Work with RCS Commissioner in creation of League game schedule.
  • Coordinate, review, and maintain City of Seattle field contracts.
  • Collaborate with RCS Commissioner and RCS Secretary on Annual budget for League.
  • Assist with any and all RCS Operations/Tournaments, as needed.
  • Facilitate and lead Coach/Manager meetings, as needed.
  • Perform any other duties delegated from the Commissioner or Executive Board.

Director of Community Engagement Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission, vision and values of Rain(bow) City Softball; and represent RCS in the larger community.
  • Manage the RCS sponsor base and engage new sponsors.
  • Create positive relationships with League friendly businesses and potential sponsors.
  • Facilitate events and outings that fosters league community.
  • During the season and off-season:
    1. Ensure the effective execution of all league wide social events including Sunday bar meetups.
    2. Season scavenger hunt
    3. No fewer than four (4) off season events.
    4. Season opening and closing party.
    5. Tournaments with the purpose of increasing community involvement.
  • Assist in the creation and distribute of all league and tournament marketing materials.
  • Identify volunteer needs and work with volunteer coordinator to identify key people to fill needed positions.
  • Assist with RCS events, booth management and coaches meetings.
  • Shall volunteer for no fewer than half of all RCS events, not including the booth.
